UNICA 2014 JURY
Romy Van Krieken (The Netherlands)
After my Masters Degree in Film Studies, I started working for Veronica, the leading Dutch entertainment magazine. After twenty years of desk duty there I can now call myself a proper film reporter.
Although not a filmmaker myself I’m always keen to help friends who are. My introduction to Unica came through working as an assistant to Reg Lancaster on the film Aloha (1991).
I continue to educate myself by
watching as many films as possible and working as an
interpreter/translator at the Dutch Film Festival. In turn I pass on
that acquired knowledge by teaching classes in film history and film
analysis, serving on international festival juries and being on the
staff of the Dutch Film Annual. I live in the lovely city of Utrecht
in the centre of The Netherlands but I am always keen to hop across
the pond.
