How does your organisation interact with UNICA? And
what, according to you, could be changed?
In general member organisations answer that they
interact by participating in the UNICA competition and by attending
the UNICA Congress each year, some with rather big delegations. Some
member organisations also mention their solidarity by having
delegates in the Committee (Austria, Croatia, Germany, The
Netherlands, Switzerland etc.) and by having organised
one or more Congresses of the UNICA in the past.
What could be changed: France has proposed in a
previous year, a global reform project in two phases: immediate
action centred on film, and measures in the medium term following a
feasibility study, for example, the establishment of the UNICA
Congress in one country with a permanent staff of organisers and
also aiming for possible support from European Media (lobbying
needed). Estonia asks can the UNICA Committee find
a solution to financially contribute to send best authors to the
UNICA Festival because participation in the UNICA festivals is the
most important aspect in UNICA movement. Poland gave
no answer..

Who supports/funds clubs? (e.g. just the members / schools / employers /other organisations or institutions)
In general: most member clubs are only supported by their members, and occasionally for specific events, they receive financial support from a local community. In Eastern European countries the Ministries of Culture finance the national events and clubs can apply for a grant for specific events.

Also, this will not be the first and
last research about the situation in each country’s organisation.
The UNICA Committee will continue its work on this field in the
future. Once again, we are glad that many of the countries
responded. We encourage all of the organisations to take part in
this kind of research by the Committee. Their information will be
the key for our progress as the UNICA.
