I was born in Skopje, Macedonia in 1985. I have been an active filmmaker since 7th grade, when I first joined the Academic Cinema Club from Skopje. So far, I have authored 10 short films and participated in the making of over 20 others.

Over the past years, I have attended many film festivals in Croatia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, Tunisia, Poland, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Austria, Russia, Romania and Germany, where I had the chance to present my film work as well. Moreover, my films have been awarded at several international film festivals, as well as at the National Festival of Non-professional Film in Macedonia. My film work is often associated with that by my father, Petre Chapovski.

For the past ten years, I have served as a delegate for the Cinema Association of Macedonia at the UNICA congresses. In addition, I was the coordinator of the International Film Festival - OSFAF that took place in Skopje during the period between 2006-2009. Furthermore, I have been in charge of the cooperation with our partner organisation from France, the Union Méditerranéenne de Cinéma et Vidéo since 2012, and a member of the UNICA Committee since 2015.

Besides my active engagement in the field of film, I have a different professional life.

I hold a degree in Economics, and I have been working as a banker for ten years. I have never quit my film work (nor do I plan to), and I have always tried to keep up with both, the film making and the banking (so far successfully).

Submitting an application for candidacy at the UNICA 2015 Congress in Saint Petersburg, Russia, was not an easy decision. However, the incentive was to bring positive change to the organisation and help UNICA manage the newly established challenges. My election as a member of the UNICA Committee was important for my country, the Republic of Macedonia, because for the first time, our cinema association took part in the organisational structure of UNICA.

My work in the UNICA Committee has been supported by the Macedonian Film Agency. As a Committee member, I constantly strive to fulfill the key points I have laid out prior to my election in 2015:

• Maintaining UNICA as an institution that takes care of non-professional filmmaking
• Bringing UNICA closer to young filmmakers
• Strengthening the cinema and video club network of each member federation
• Making UNICA a real world association for non-professional cinema

I hope that I will continue working as part of the UNICA Committee and contribute more towards the type of cinema we all care about.

Je suis né à Skopje, Macédoine, en 1985. Je suis un cinéaste actif depuis
que j’étais élève de 5e, quand j'ai rejoint l'Academic Cinema Club de Skopje. Jusqu' à présent, j'ai écrit 10 courts métrages et participé à la réalisation de plus de 20 autres.

Au cours des dernières années, j'ai assisté à de nombreux festivals de cinéma en Croatie, Bulgarie, Serbie, Grèce, Tunisie, Pologne, Suisse, Luxembourg, Autriche, Russie, Roumanie et Allemagne, où j'ai eu la chance de présenter mon travail cinématographique. De plus, mes films ont été primés dans plusieurs festivals internationaux, ainsi qu'au Festival National du Film Non Professionnel en Macédoine. Mon travail cinématographique est souvent associé à celui de mon père, Petre Chapovski.

Au cours des dix dernières années, j'ai été délégué de l'Association du Cinéma de Macédoine aux congrès de l'UNICA. De plus, j'ai été le coordinateur du Festival International du Film - OSFAF qui a eu lieu à Skopje entre 2006 et 2009. Par ailleurs, je suis responsable de la coopération avec notre organisation partenaire française, l'Union Méditerranéenne de Cinéma et Vidéo depuis 2012, et membre du Comité de l'UNICA depuis 2015.

Outre mon engagement actif dans le domaine du cinéma, j'ai une vie professionnelle différente.

Je suis titulaire d'un diplôme en économie et je travaille comme banquier depuis dix ans. Je n'ai jamais quitté mon travail cinématographique (je n'en ai pas l'intention non plus), et j'ai toujours essayé de me tenir au courant des deux, du cinéma et de la banque (jusqu' à présent avec succès).

Soumettre une candidature au Congrès de l'UNICA 2015 à Saint-Pétersbourg, Russie, n' a pas été une décision facile. Cependant, mon but était d'apporter des changements positifs à l'organisation et d'aider l'UNICA à gérer les nouveaux défis. Mon élection en tant que membre du Comité de l'UNICA a été importante pour mon pays, la République de Macédoine, car pour la première fois, notre association cinématographique a participé à la structure organisationnelle de l'UNICA.

Mon travail au sein du Comité de l'UNICA a été soutenu par l'Agence cinématographique macédonienne. En tant que membre du Comité, je m'efforce constamment de répondre aux principaux points que j'ai soulevés avant mon élection en 2015:

• Maintenir l'UNICA en tant qu'institution qui s'occupe de la réalisation de films non professionnels
• Rapprocher l'UNICA des jeunes cinéastes
• Renforcer le réseau des clubs cinématographiques et vidéo de chaque fédération membre
• Faire de l'UNICA une association vraiment  mondiale pour le cinéma non-professionnel

J'espère que je continuerai à travailler au sein du Comité de l'UNICA et que je contribuerai davantage au type de cinéma auquel nous tenons tous.

Ich wurde 1985 in Skopje, Mazedonien geboren. Ich bin seit der 7. Klasse, als ich zum ersten Mal dem Academic Cinema Club aus Skopje beigetreten bin, ein aktiver Filmemacher. Bisher habe ich 10 Kurzfilme verfasst und an der Entstehung von über 20 weiteren Kurzfilmen mitgewirkt.

In den letzten Jahren habe ich an vielen Filmfestivals in Kroatien, Bulgarien, Serbien, Griechenland, Tunesien, Polen, der Schweiz, Luxemburg, Österreich, Russland, Rumänien und Deutschland teilgenommen, wo ich auch meine Filmarbeiten präsentieren durfte. Darüber hinaus wurden meine Filme bei mehreren internationalen Filmfestivals sowie beim National Festival of Non-professional Film in Mazedonien ausgezeichnet. Meine Filmarbeit wird oft mit der meines Vaters Petre Chapovski in Verbindung gebracht.

In den letzten zehn Jahren war ich Delegierter der Cinema Association of Macedonia bei den UNICA-Kongressen. Außerdem war ich Koordinator des Internationalen Filmfestivals OSFAF, das in Skopje im Zeitraum 2006-2009 stattfand. Darüber hinaus bin ich seit 2012 für die Zusammenarbeit mit unserer Partnerorganisation aus Frankreich, der Union Méditerranéenne de Cinéma et Vidéo, zuständig und seit 2015 Mitglied des UNICA-Komitees..

Neben meinem aktiven Engagement im Filmbereich habe ich ein anderes Berufsleben.

Ich bin Diplom-Volkswirt und arbeite seit zehn Jahren als Bankkaufmann.

Ich habe meine Filmarbeit nie aufgegeben (und auch nicht geplant), und ich habe immer versucht, sowohl mit dem Filmemachen als auch mit dem Bankwesen Schritt zu halten (bisher erfolgreich).

Die Einreichung eines Antrags auf Kandidatur beim UNICA 2015 Kongress in Sankt Petersburg, Russland, war keine leichte Entscheidung. Der Anreiz war jedoch, positive Veränderungen in der Organisation herbeizuführen und UNICA bei der Bewältigung der neuen Herausforderungen zu unterstützen. Meine Wahl zum Mitglied des UNICA-Ausschusses war wichtig für mein Land, die Republik Mazedonien, denn zum ersten Mal beteiligte sich unser Filmverband an der Organisationsstruktur der UNICA.

Meine Arbeit im UNICA-Komitee wurde von der mazedonischen Filmagentur unterstützt. Als Ausschussmitglied bin ich stets bestrebt, die Kernpunkte zu erfüllen, die ich vor meiner Wahl im Jahr 2015 festgelegt habe:

• um die UNICA als Institution zu erhalten, die sich um das nicht-professionelle Filmschaffen kümmert.
• um die UNICA den jungen Filmemachern näher bringen.
• um die Stärkung des Kino- und Videoclub-Netzwerks jedes Mitgliedsverbandes
• um die UNICA zu einem echten Weltverband für das nicht-professionelle Kino machen.

Ich hoffe, dass ich weiterhin als Mitglied des UNICA-Ausschusses arbeiten und mehr zu der Art von Kino beitragen werde, die uns allen am Herzen liegt.
