Hello, my name is Eugy, and I live near Brussels, Belgium.
About 40 years ago, I bought my first Super8 camera, which was
loaded with a plastic box containing an unexposed 3-minute
motion-picture film roll. Then I joined an amateur film club. For me
this was the beginning of an exciting, on-going personal journey
within the world of moving images.
Ever since I stepped into this exciting realm, I have seen a
never-ending evolution in technical possibilities, film editing
techniques and film language.
On the other hand, one thing remains steady: through their camera
lenses, non-professional filmmakers always present film topics
inspired by their emotions and their personal point of view. Their
films allow me to expand my personal horizon.
Whenever I get the chance, I go to see movies at local film clubs and at film festivals around the country. I got invited to participate in jury panels, initially at local club levels and later progressing to more demanding competitions.
To develop my skills and capabilities in reviewing films, I
attended several courses.
This year I reached pension age, so I can invest more time in
boosting my personal film activities. I am keen in making animation
movies which, to me, is a world on its own. From now on, I have more
time to dive into the fascination of this time-consuming and
patience-demanding activity.
I am honored for this opportunity to enjoy your films here at UNICA.
Thank you all.
