In the millennium year 2000, the UNICA international film & video festival will (again) be held in the Netherlands.

The central venue is the TheaterHotel "De Oranjerie" in Roermond, a unique combination of hotel and theatre.

In this theatre the best non-commercial films in the world will be shown and judged.

The TheaterHotel has more than 90 very luxuriously furnished hotel rooms, five master's suites, two president's suites and a bridal suite. The spacious rooms all have a minibar, a French-style balcony, telephone and TV with house video. The bathrooms are all fitted with a shower, bath, washbasin and toilet.

In addition, on the top floor there is a Health & Beauty club which includes a sauna.

Roermond is situated approx. 200 km south-east of Amsterdam, 50 km north of Maastricht and 10 km from the German border, on a level with Münchengladbach and has a population of approx. 44,000. It is situated on the main railway line from The Hague (Den Haag) to Heerlen / Maastricht. From Schiphol it is a comfortable ride of less than three hours on the Intercity train via Den Haag HS to Roermond.

For those travelling by car, there is a parking garage next to the TheaterHotel, which is free for guests of the TheaterHotel.

For visitors to the festival, many activities are being organised to afford the opportunity of maintaining international contacts and to experience various cultural aspects of Holland (and Belgium).

There will be, for example, a full-day excursion visiting the extensive open-air museum Bokrijk in Belgium, with, in the afternoon, a boat trip from Maastricht to the locks at Lanaye (BEL).

During the half-day excursion we will be going to the small white mediaeval town of Thorn, where there will be an organ concert in the Abbey Church. Next we go to the Castle Gardens of Arcen.

Both excursions will be concluded with a festive dinner.

There is a well-equipped camping site at a distance of approx. 2 km from the TheaterHotel.

En l'an 2000, le festival international du film et de la vidéo UNICA se tiendra (à nouveau) aux Pays-Bas.

Le TheaterHotel "De Oranjerie" à Roermond, une combinaison unique d'hôtel et de théâtre, en est le lieu central.

Dans ce théâtre, les meilleurs films non commerciaux du monde seront projetés et jugés.

Le TheaterHotel dispose de plus de 90 chambres d'hôtel très luxueusement meublées, cinq suites de maître, deux suites du président et une suite nuptiale. Les chambres spacieuses disposent toutes d'un minibar, d'un balcon à la française, d'un téléphone et d'une télévision avec vidéo maison. Les salles de bains sont toutes équipées d'une douche, d'une baignoire, d'un lavabo et de toilettes.

De plus, au dernier étage, il y a un club Santé & Beauté qui comprend un sauna.

Roermond est situé à environ 200 km au sud-est d'Amsterdam, 50 km au nord de Maastricht et 10 km de la frontière allemande, au niveau de Münchengladbach, et compte environ 44 000 habitants. Il est situé sur la ligne ferroviaire principale de La Haye (Den Haag) à Heerlen / Maastricht. De Schiphol, c'est un trajet confortable de moins de trois heures en train Intercity via Den Haag HS jusqu'à Roermond.

Pour ceux qui voyagent en voiture, il y a un parking à côté du TheaterHotel, qui est gratuit pour les clients du TheaterHotel.

Pour les visiteurs du festival, de nombreuses activités sont organisées afin de leur permettre de maintenir des contacts internationaux et de découvrir différents aspects culturels de la Hollande (et de la Belgique).

Il y aura, par exemple, une excursion d'une journée complète pour visiter le vaste musée en plein air de Bokrijk en Belgique, avec, l'après-midi, une promenade en bateau de Maastricht aux écluses de Lanaye (BEL).

Au cours de l'excursion d'une demi-journée, nous nous rendrons dans la petite ville médiévale blanche d'Thorn, où il y aura un concert d'orgue dans l'église abbatiale. Ensuite, nous irons aux Jardins du Château d'Arcen.

Les deux excursions se termineront par un dîner festif.

In diesem Theater werden die besten nicht-kommerziellen Filme der Welt gezeigt und bewertet.

Das TheaterHotel verfügt über mehr als 90 sehr luxuriös eingerichtete Hotelzimmer, fünf Mastersuiten, zwei Präsidentensuiten und eine Hochzeitssuite. Die geräumigen Zimmer verfügen alle über eine Minibar, einen französischen Balkon, Telefon und TV mit Hausvideo. Die Bäder sind alle mit Dusche, Bad, Waschbecken und WC ausgestattet.

Darüber hinaus gibt es im Dachgeschoss einen Health & Beauty Club mit einer Sauna.

Von Schiphol aus ist es eine bequeme Fahrt von weniger als drei Stunden mit dem Intercity-Zug über Den Haag HS nach Roermond.

Für diejenigen, die mit dem Auto anreisen, gibt es neben dem TheaterHotel ein Parkhaus, das für die Gäste des TheaterHotels kostenlos ist.

Für die Besucher des Festivals werden viele Aktivitäten organisiert, um die Möglichkeit zu bieten, internationale Kontakte zu pflegen und verschiedene kulturelle Aspekte Hollands (und Belgiens) kennenzulernen.

So wird es beispielsweise eine ganztägige Exkursion zum umfangreichen Freilichtmuseum Bokrijk in Belgien geben, mit einer Bootsfahrt von Maastricht zu den Schleusen von Lanaye (BEL) am Nachmittag.

Während des halbtägigen Ausflugs fahren wir in die kleine weiße mittelalterliche Stadt Thorn, wo es ein Orgelkonzert in der Abteikirche geben wird. Als nächstes fahren wir zu den Schlossgärten von Arcen.

Beide Ausflüge werden mit einem festlichen Abendessen abgeschlossen.
