SFV (Sveriges Film- och Videoforbund)
submits the following proposals to the General Assembly:

International Association of Amateur Film & Video Festivals (IAAFVF)

SFV proposes that UNICA takes care of the responsibility of the former IAAFVF.

Today international festivals can receive a patronage by UNICA.

However, some sort of co­operation between the festivals is not initiated by UNICA.

IAAFVF used to have draft standard competition regulations; they exchanged addresses of award winning participants. They also published a newsletter about twice a year. UNICA is the world organisation for amateurfilmmakers.

It would be an obligation for UNICA to promote the various international amateurfilmfestivals and assist them in their work.

This would also benefit UNICA, as its name would be known also in countries which so far are not members of UNICA.

La SFV propose que l'UNICA prenne en charge la responsabilité de l'ancienne IAAFVF.

Aujourd'hui, les festivals internationaux peuvent bénéficier du patronage de l'UNICA.

Cependant, l'UNICA n'est pas à l'origine d'une forme de coopération entre les festivals.

L'IAAFVF avait l'habitude d'avoir un projet de règlement de compétition standard ; ils échangeaient les adresses des participants récompensés. Ils publiaient également un bulletin d'information environ deux fois par année. L'UNICA est l'organisation mondiale des cinéastes amateurs.

L'UNICA aurait l'obligation de promouvoir les différents festivals internationaux de films amateurs et de les aider dans leur travail.

Cela profiterait également à l'UNICA, car son nom serait également connu dans les pays qui ne sont pas encore membres de l'UNICA.

Der SFV schlägt vor, dass die UNICA die Verantwortung für die ehemalige IAAFVF übernimmt.

Heute können internationale Festivals von der UNICA gefördert werden.

Eine Art Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Festivals wird jedoch nicht von UNICA initiiert.

Früher hatte die IAAFVF Entwürfe für einheitliche Wettbewerbsregeln; sie tauschten Adressen von preisgekrönten Teilnehmern aus. Außerdem veröffentlichten sie etwa zweimal im Jahr einen Newsletter. UNICA ist die Weltorganisation für Amateurfilmer.

Es wäre eine Verpflichtung für UNICA, die verschiedenen internationalen Amateurfilmfestivals zu fördern und sie bei ihrer Arbeit zu unterstützen.

Dies würde auch der UNICA zugute kommen, da ihr Name auch in Ländern bekannt wäre, die nicht Mitglied der UNICA sind.

Japan

SFV proposes that the Committee exerts itself in getting a Japanese representation in UNICA. We guess, that Japan is the biggest country in the aspect of making amateur films. Since the middle of the 80's no Japanese film has been shown in the UNICA festival (with the exception of the World Minute Movie Cup). In Tokyo each year an international video contest is organised. They use to get more than 1.000 (one thousand) Japanese entries ! (In 1995, by the way, the festival was won by the Czech "Well-fed Bulldozer's Driver" that also took part in the UNICA festival.)

A Japanese membership would probably also motivate a lot of people from Japan to visit the UNICA festivals.

La SFV propose que le Comité s'efforce d'obtenir une représentation japonaise à l'UNICA. Nous pensons que le Japon est le plus grand pays pour ce qui est de faire des films amateurs. Depuis le milieu des années 80, aucun film japonais n'a été projeté au festival UNICA (à l'exception de la World Minute Movie Cup). Chaque année, un concours international de vidéos est organisé à Tokyo. Ils ont l'habitude d'obtenir plus de 1.000 (mille) entrées japonaises ! (En 1995, le festival a d'ailleurs été remporté par le Tchèque "Well-fed Bulldozer's Driver" qui a également participé au festival UNICA).

Une adhésion japonaise motiverait probablement aussi beaucoup de gens du Japon à visiter les festivals UNICA.

Der SFV schlägt vor, dass sich der Ausschuss dafür einsetzt, eine japanische Vertretung in UNICA zu erhalten. Wir schätzen, dass Japan das größte Land im Bereich der Amateurfilmproduktion ist. Seit Mitte der 80er Jahre wird auf dem UNICA-Festival kein japanischer Film mehr gezeigt (mit Ausnahme des World Minute Movie Cup). In Tokio wird jedes Jahr ein internationaler Videowettbewerb organisiert. Sie verwenden, um mehr als 1.000 (tausend) japanische Einträge zu erhalten ! (1995 wurde das Festival übrigens vom tschechischen "Well-fed Bulldozer's Driver" gewonnen, der auch am UNICA-Festival teilnahm.)

Eine japanische Mitgliedschaft würde wahrscheinlich auch viele Menschen aus Japan motivieren, die UNICA-Festivals zu besuchen.
