On Thursday April 22, 2004 Franz Rienesl passed away after a long, difficult illness. He was 61 years old.

Franz had been an Advisor of the UNICA Committee since 1997.
Accompanied by his wife Liesl, he attended all UNICA Committee meetings, except the last ones, due to his severe illness.
