Tallinn, which acquired town rights
in 1248 and belongs to the Hanseatic League since 1285, has offen
been
called the "crossroads of Europe".
The independent and democratic Republic
of Estonia was announced in Tallinn on 24 February 1918. The Liberly War
(1918-1920) ended with the signing of the Tartu Treaty and Tallinn became
the capital of the Republic of Estonia.
In 1991 Estonia regained her independence
on the basis of legal succession. Estonia is the EU accessor country.
Tallinn, a Baltic Sea harbour city
with lush greenery, is also a city of culture and rich historical legacy.
In 1997 the Old Town of Tallinn, the
special atmosphere of which is a unique tourist attraction, was included
on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In 1986 the international film festival
and congress UNICA '86 were held in Tallinn.
UNICA will be back in Tallinn on 3-12
August 2001.
UNICA 2001 will be held in the National
Library of Estonia.
International
class hotels will be offered for the guests of the festival.
Both the National Library and the hotels
are located in the centre of Tallinn.
Excursions will be made to Poltsamaa
- to the one-time capital of the Livonian vassal kingdom and present wine
capital - and the surroundings of Tallinn. Both excursions will be concluded
with a dinner.

Tallinn, das die
Stadtrechte im Jahre 1248 erhalten hat und seit dem Jahr 1285 dem Bund
der Hansestädte zugehört hat, wird oft "zum Kreuzweg von Europa"
genannt.
Die unabhängige und demokratische
Republik wurde am 24. Februar 1918 in Tallinn erklärt. Der Freiheitskrieg
(1918-1920) hat mit dem Friedensvertrag von Tartu geendet und Tallinn wurde
zur Hauptstadt der Estnischen Republik.
Seit 1991 ist Estland wieder eine
unabhängige Republik und bereitet sich auf den Beitritt zur Europäischen
Union vor.
Tallinn ist eine Hafenstadt und liegt
an der Südküste des Finnischen Meerbusens. Mit seinem reichlichen
Erbe ist Tallinn auch eine Kulturstadt. Im Jahre 1997 wurde die Altstadt
von Tallinn in die Liste von UNESCO eingetragen.
Im Jahre 1986 hat in Tallinn das Weltfestival
der nichtprofessionellen Filmer stattgefunden. Das UNICA internationale
Film- und Videofestival wird wieder in Tallinn 3-12 August 2001 durchgeführt.
UNICA 2001 findet in der National-Bibliothek von
Estland statt. Den Gästen
des Festivals werden die Hotels
mit internationaler Klasse angeboten. Sowohl die National-Bibliothek als auch die Hotels befinden sich im Zentrum der Stadt.
Die Ausflüge werden nach Põltsamaa
(die ehemalige Hauptstadt des Vasallenkönigreiches von Livland und
die heutige Weinhauptstadt) und die Umgebung von Tallinn organisiert. Beide
Ausflüge werden mit einem Diner beendet.

Tallinnas Eesti Rahvusraamatukogu
63. ülemaailmne amatöörfilmide festival - UNICA'
2001.
Ülemaailmsesse Mitteprofessionaalsete Kinematografistide Liitu (UNICA) kuulub
34 liikmesmaad. UNICA on UNESCO liikmesorganisatsioon.
Esimene UNICA festival toimus 1931.a. Brüsselis. 1986.a. toimus UNICA
festival Tallinnas.
Iga riik esitab UNICA festivalile ühetunnise filmiprogrammi. Samas toimuvad
1-minutiliste filmide maailmameistrivôistlused. Näha saab nii mängu-, tôsielu
kui ka animafilme. Parimaid filme autasustatakse kuld-, hôbe ja
pronksmedalitega.
Osavôtjatele korraldatakse ekskursioonid Pôltsamaale, Jänedale ja Vabaôhumuuseumi.
Festivali korraldamist toetavad Tallinna linn, Kultuuriministeerium,
Kultuurkapital, Pôltsamaa linn jt.
