YOUTH IN ACTION-PROGRAMME
Through a grant from the European Commission, the Luxembourg Organization
Committee created the possibility to invite from a large number of European
countries four youth members -almost free of charge- to participate in the
program "Youth in Action".
In addition to visiting the festival there will be organized workshops and other
activities especially for them.
Participating countries
As far as now known there will be delegated four youth members from each of
the following European countries:
Germany
Estonia
Luxembourg
The Netherlands
Slovakia
Sweden
The Czech Republic
Switzerland
And as a special guest one participant from Rwanda and one from Armenia.
Youth Coach
A youth coach will be appointed by each of the participating countries as
acting guide for youth members from his or her country.
If during the "Youth in Action" programme a problem might arise -which cannot be
solved on the spot by the youth members themselves or by the staff- then the
youth coach may be contacted.
Stay in Luxembourg
The youth programme will take place in and around the
“Centre
de Jeunesse” in Eisenborn, a (very) small village about 15
km northeast of Luxembourg-City.
The "Centre" is a building of the Service National de la Jeunesse especially
adapted to host groups of youth and that is widely used for youth exchange
programmes and (film)-workshops.
A professional staff is present, which (along with some youth leaders) will run
the programme.
During "Youth in Action" the Centre will entirely be at the disposal of the
UNICA-youth participants.
Costs
Thanks to the subsidy from the European Commission, the costs for the youth
participants are very limited:
The stay in the Centre de Jeunesse, including breakfast, lunch and dinner,
participation in the full programme and occasional transport to Luxembourg-City
is free of charge.
The trip from the home-country to Luxembourg will be reimbursed for 70%.
Regardless of whether by car or train travel, the Organization will refund 70%
of a 2nd-class train ticket.
If the participants want to use something extra on one of the many terraces of
Luxembourg or during the boat trip on the Moselle, the costs will be of course
for their own account.
